1 Grave of the fireflies:
This animated film was published in 1988 based on the semi-autobiography of “Akiyuki Nosaka”; which tells the story of the two little siblings “Seita” and his sister “Setsuko”; who struggle to survive the last few final months of the Second World War after the death of their parents. The story is an epitome of Japanese people’s misery during the War.

Upon returning home she meets “The Witch of the Waste” who transforms her into a ninety-nine-years old woman. 6 Princess Mononoke:
In “Muromachi” Japan, a village is attacked by a demon. Fortunately, the last Emishi prince “Ashitaka” kills it before it reaches the village, but its corruption curses his right arm. The curse gives him superhuman strength, but will eventually spread through his body and kill him.
So the villagers told him to leave his homeland looking for a cure to his curse; who later meets Princess “Mononoke” a human girl raised by the wolf goddess “Moro”.
7 Castle in the sky:
An airship carrying “Sheeta”; a young orphan girl who has been abducted by government agent “Muska”; is under attack by an old woman called Captain “Dolla” who aims to steal “Sheeta”’s small crystal pendent that has mysterious supper power. As a result of a big fight between the two sides, “Sheeta” falls from the airship.
Thanks to the pendent; her descent was slowed, and she safely lands in a small mining town where she meets the brave orphan boy named “Pazu”; who helps her escape from bad people who are after her.
8 Mary and the witch’s flower:
This movie is best of Studio Ghibli Anime ,based on the 1971 book “The Little Broomstick” by studio Ponoc. It tells the story of “Mary Smith” who moved into the northern English country estate near her grand-aunt. Mary always tries to be useful but repeatedly messes up, and Peter the local boy in their house always teases her of her wild red hair.
One day peter cats lead her to a mysterious glowing flower; the next day was a foggy morning and one of the two cats disappears; while looking for him; the other cat leads “Mary” to a broomstick in the middle of the forest; where she discovers the mysterious magical poser of the glowing flower.
9 Whisper of the heart:
The film follows the story of two junior high school students; “Seiji” who wants to be a master luthier (violin-maker) and “Shizuku”; a bookworm who tries to test her creative writing talents after meeting “Seiji”; whose name she noticed in the checkout cards of her library books; and being inspired by his hard work to achieve his dream.
Whisper of the heart was the highest-grossing Japanese film on the domestic market in 1995 and received very positive reviews.
